-------About Me-------

Currently I am studying at Rutgers University under the department Electrical and Computer Engineering, I am concentrating in Computer Engineering. I have done my Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India. I have taken up a gamut of courses ranging from Computer Architecture, Software Engineering , Mobile Applications Engineering, Programming Methodologies, Data Structures and Algorithms and many more. I have always had an inclination for computers; but once I took up Computer Engineering, this inclination transformed into a never-ending love-story. Do they say, once a Computer Engineer, always a Computer Engineer ?

-------Courses--------

My undergraduate studies in Electronics Engineering allowed me to venture various faculties of Elctronics and Computers. This further paved my way to Rutgers University's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. At Rutgers I got exposed to the power of software technology and hardware architecture and took up a gamut of courses in that direction.

--------------Projects --------------

Stock Account Management System

In this project I had created a Stock Account Management System. The code was written in C++ with the concepts of Object Oriented Programming. The stock management system was designed to buy and sell available stocks. It maintained the user profile, with avialble balance , stock and statistics of the spent amount. Graphs were used show the expenditure trend of the user. The graphs were made using MATLAB. You can view my project-code using the github link.

StalkTheStock : A Stock Price Predicting Web Application

With a team of 5, this web-application was created with the vision to help stock-traders predict short-term (one minute) and long term (one-day) stock priices. The front end was scripted in HTML, CSS and Javascript with the aid of Jquery libraries and AJAX. The backend which is the backbone of most web-applications was scripted in Python and PHP. The algorithms used for long-term and short-term predictions were Support-Vector Machine , Bayesian Predictor and Artificial Neural Networks. I have done the algorithms and the and You can view the project by clicking the StalkTheStock

RestoLingo : A Restaurant Automation Web based Mobile Application

We built a web based mobile application for restaurants. Building a web-application was the course-requirement and we abided by it. Our motto was creating a user-friendly application for a conventional restaurant. With a vision to make the traditional pen-paper method of taking down orders obsolete, we included features such as order take-down. The application also includes features such as viewing available tables, viewing the bill, sending notifcations to the chef about the order, sending notificaions to the waiter if the dish is ready and many more. To make this application we used the Python - Django framework which made our work easy. We executed the project using Agile Methodology and had mock sprints to get the feel of working in a software industry. The application prototype was made mobile and tablet responsive only. We deployed our work on AWS. You can view our project code using the following github link: Link to RestoLingo
You can used the web link on your phone to view our project: The username is waiter and password is waiterpassword to login as a waiter.
I would love to enhance this project further and I am open to suggestions and ideas.

Travellify: : A trip planning Android application

Android Applications are always fun to use. Coding them however, is always a challenge. We made Travellify with the purpose of creating a trip planner. The user can enter the source and destination of his/her trip. The shortest route is shown and on the path the most popular destinations are marked. On clicking a location pin the pictures clicked at that locateion are displayed. In the developement phase we tested the application inside our college campus and it worked. The application also had features like search by tag, add friends, tag suggestions. We used android studio to code the application. Google Maps API was used for integrating Maps in the application, clarifai API was used for image recognition and tag suggestions.

Implementation of Sequence Alignment Algorithms

To study data structures and alogorithms in depth, I studied sequence alignment algorithms like Needleman-Wunsch, Smith-Waterman, and Hirschberg's algorithms in order to. These algorithms are used widely in DNA research to study the similarities among various living beings. Hence the dataset we used was a collection of genetic DNA sequences. Implementing these algorithms gave me a sense of importance of data structures in the world of programming. It also gave me an insight about how important algorithms can be in terms of time and space complexities to achieve optimum performance and quick results. The algorithms were coded in Python. After the implementation I also carried out analysis with respect to the Big-O Notation and Doubling Hypothesis.

--------About my work---------

Application- Developer - ADP

At ADP I work as an Application Developer working on their product Accountant Connect. The product is built using the MERN stack - MongoDB, Express, React.js and Node.js. You can have a sneak peek at the product using the following link : Have a look at Accountant Connect

Web- Developer - Rutgers University

I work as a Web Developer in the Department of Recreation at Rutgers University. My work revolves around creating, updating and maintaining websites. The technologies I use here are PHP for back-end, HTML, CSS, AJAX and Javascript for front-end . The Database used is MySQL. The kind of websites I create are primarily information portals, student & staff forms and user portals. It's been a thorough delight working as a web developer. It allows me to explore my creativity and realise my potential as a software developer. It has also given me insights with respect to the need of a timebound work-plan to get things done as quickly as possible!

Technology Intern - Micropoint Computers Ltd.

At Micropoint, I worked as a Technology Intern. This was my first ever exposure to web-developement. I knew bits and pieces about HTML, but creating a website for the company gave me an exposure to front-end web deveopement and styling in particular. I was exposed to the power of CSS and Javascript which is the backbone of front-end developement. Micropoint also helped me understand databases and taught me to implement certain Database Optimization techniques such as indexing, normalization and rewriting queries. Configuring computer hardware at Micropoint helped me understand computer- organisation and architecture.
